Rescue Mica
Mica woke up with sand in her mouth. Everyone was shouting, "Don't get sand up her nose!"
"Cover her head with this scarf!"
Callie screamed, "Look at that huge wave coming in!"
"Artie, I don't want to play Sand Princess anymore. Help! I'm stuck!" Mica's eyes filled with sandy tears.
Sand flew everywhere. Mrs. Marble, Callie, and Artie scooped Mica up out of her sand trap. Seconds later the incoming wave washed water over the Sand Princess's hole.
Mica was sandy and crabby. She didn't like all the wet sand caked on her. Callie laughed, "Now you can be our little sand crab."
"Sand Crab! Sand Crab!" chimed in Artie.
Mrs. Marble glared at the twins, " You two, stop it. You almost got your little sister drowned! Do not call her, 'Sand Crab' ever again. You are going back to our room. You are grounded for the rest of the day."
Now Callie and Artie realized what they had done. They hugged their sandy little sister. "We're sorry, Mica. Mommy, we won't ever do this again!"
Their mother loaded them up with their towels and beach bags. Luckily, her family assistant had just arrived with lunch. "Beth, take these two back to the resort. Digger Dynamo Callie, you started this whole thing. Artie, you can't bury someone. Don't do everything that your sister tells you to do. Think for yourself. You're both grounded for the rest of the day. Just lie on your beds and think about what could have happened. No games, books, or electronics."
From then on, the Marbles called Callie, "Digger Dynamo."
She was happy to live up to this nickname.
